West Leinster Track and Field - Day 2
St Declan's students claim silver and bronze in 200m
On Thursday, April 27th, our students journeyed to Tullamore Harriers Stadium to compete in the second day of the West Leinster Track and Field Championships. Our talented athletes put on an impressive display, participating in various events, including 200m sprints, 800m, 3000m, relay, and long jump.
We would like to extend our congratulations to all the students who participated and commend their efforts. In particular, we would like to recognise Chibuikem Onwumereh, who secured a remarkable second place in the Senior Boys 200m, earning himself a well-deserved silver medal. Emmanuel Akinrolie also demonstrated exceptional talent, clinching the third spot in the Senior Boys 200m and earning himself a bronze medal.
Furthermore, we would like to commend Daragh Stenson and Rory Duffy for their excellent performance in the highly competitive Inter Boys 3000m race.
It was another triumphant day for our St. Declan's athletes, and we couldn't be more proud of their accomplishments.
We wish Chibuikem Onwumereh the best of luck as he moves on to the Leinster Track and Field Championship, having qualified through his exceptional performance.
