It was with immense pride and joy (and quite a few nerves) that St Declan's College staged our very first school musical, 'Deco’s D’Musical' in March. The two performances marked a true milestone the life of our school. What began as an idea in September grew into a full-scale, all-singing, all-dancing production about a somewhat familiar school called St Jude's, brought to life through the remarkable efforts of our students and staff. From the very beginning, we were unsure of what the final result might be, but what emerged was something truly special and original filled with a host of unique characters, exuberant singing and dancing worthy of any boy-band.
'Deco's D'Musical' represents far more than a performance. It showcases the imagination of our students, the dedication of our teachers, and the strength of our school community. It has been written, developed, and shaped by both students and teachers working side by side, each person contributing their own unique talents. The result is an original piece of theatre that captures the spirit, humour, and energy of our school.
Congratulations to every member of the cast and crew. Their enthusiasm, resilience, and willingness to take risks shone through during months of rehearsals. Whether singing, acting, dancing, or supporting classmates from the wings, each member of the cast and crew played an essential role in bringing this show to life.
Thank you to all of the school staff involved, whose passion and guidance have shaped every step of this journey. A special word of thanks must go to Ms Kelly, Ms Bellingan, and Mr Ronan, whose leadership, creativity, and unshakeable commitment ensured that 'Deco’s D’Musical' became a reality and a true success.
